Have you ever wondered what the day-to-day looks like for the owner of a digital marketing
agency? Today on the journal, I am going to take you behind the scenes and give you an idea of
what my days typically consist of! Each day could be slightly different, but for the most part, I
stick to a routine and keep myself as organized as possible.
Where I Work
Let’s start with where I typically work! While I do have an office at home that I am in a lot of the
time, sometimes it is nice to get out of the house. On the days when I don’t want to be at
home, I am usually working at Urth Café in Laguna Beach. If you see me, say hi! It is a great
location to work quietly and enjoy some incredible food while I am there!
One of the most helpful things I do to keep my days organized and a little bit simpler is block
scheduling. This allows me to create blocks of time for each of my clients and to focus solely on
the work that needs to be done for that specific client. I go into my day knowing what time I will
be working on content for that person, and it keeps me organized because I don’t have things
going on for multiple clients at once.
If you haven’t tried time blocking, I promise it is worth giving it a shot! For someone who is busy
like me every single day, time blocking takes some of the stress out of your to-do list by letting
you plan specific chunks of your day around certain tasks. You can then put all of your efforts into
what is scheduled for that time block and not worry about doing ten things at one time.
Since I also own Adorn Collective Workshops, I spend a good amount of my day planning for upcoming
workshops. There is a lot of work that goes into each of the workshops, including finalizing
locations, vendors, and models. It requires time researching and brainstorming to come up with
the best venues to use for these workshops as well as the overall design and schedule. I spend a
lot of time working on the details to ensure that everything runs smoothly when people arrive
for the workshop.
As with any industry, things are always changing. I am constantly looking at what is new and
taking classes to keep up with the latest trends in the wedding industry. There are always new
trends when it comes to photography, colors, fashion, and even the type of venues that people
are looking at. I love learning about all of this and being able to share it with my clients to help
benefit their business and digital marketing strategy.
I hope this was a fun look into what goes into my daily work here as a business owner and how I
best utilize my time! Let me know if you want to learn more about behind the scenes of my
